Guided tour of Nymphenburg Palace
Discover Nymphenburg Palace, the summer residence of the Wittelsbach rulers, with an official tour guide from the City of Munich on this guided tour. Be inspired by the history of the palace's origins; the love story of a princely couple from the 17th century.
The tour begins with the exterior of Nymphenburg Palace, which is over 632 meters wide, making it wider than Versailles Palace.
The tour then continues inside the palace complex. First you enter the Stone Hall with its rich stucco work and a magnificent ceiling fresco by Johann Baptist Zimmermann. You will then visit the various rooms of the princes and their wives. Your palace guide will show you the most valuable piece of furniture, a table made using the Pietra Dura technique, explain numerous pieces of furniture and tell you the fascinating stories of various mistresses. The beauty gallery of King Ludwig I is worth seeing; the birth room of the later “fairytale king” King Ludwig II is historic.
Exciting stories about life at court, unconventional wives and a bizarre hunting scene are just a small part of the numerous stories. Experience an entertaining, exciting and informative journey back to the Baroque era on this guided tour of Nymphenburg Palace with your tour guide.

(Museum of carriages and sleighs)
Discover Nymphenburg Palace and the Marstallmuseum with an official city guide from the City of Munich. In a private exclusive tour.
Start by enjoying the palace from the outside with a love story from the 17th century, which explains the beginning of Nymphenburg Palace and the further Baroque additions by the Wittelsbach electors. The current use of the palace, which is over 600 meters wide, is also fascinating.
In the palace itself, we marvel at the Stone Hall, which was the palace's banqueting hall. Then the elector's rooms, the electress's rooms, the galleries and the queen's apartment, including the beauty gallery of King Ludwig I and the birth room of King Ludwig II.
On this tour, you will not only get to know the magnificent interiors of the palace, but also learn how they were used. Some important Wittelsbach rulers will tell you their exciting life stories.
Afterwards we discover the Marstallmuseum, which is one of the most important of its kind in the world due to its rich collection. The stable building was once home to the Wittelsbachs' precious riding horses, carriages and sleighs during the summer months. With over forty representative carriages and sleighs, the museum documents three hundred years of princely carriage building as well as driving and riding culture. The highlights of the museum are the coronation carriage of Emperor Charles VII, one of the most beautiful state carriages of the French Rococo period and the magnificent vehicles of King Ludwig II.
